This evening, after school, we took 25 Year 4 children to take part in the Cheshire Oaks Schools Sports Partnership Tag Rugby Festival.
Whilst the theme of the afternoon was ‘taking part’ it didn’t stop the friendly competition between local schools kicking in. Each and every one of the children fought hard to try and win each of their games (all in line with the rules of the game, of course). The children rotated through matches playing against other local schools including St Bernard’s, William Stockton, Rossmore, The Oaks and Parklands. As we took two teams to the festival, the children also had the opportunity to play against their class friends. In what was a close encounter, I’m pleased to report that Our Lady’s won!
It was great to see so many of our children taking part in organised local area sport and experiencing what it is like to represent the school. We were very proud of everyone for being such wonderful athletes!
A final thanks goes to Mr Poole for organising and for all of the parents that assisted with walking the children to the rugby festival.
